My Favorite "stuff"...

I don't know if I spend a lot of time on the internet or not. I hope I don't. But, I spend enough time to have a starting list of favorite stuff online. So, here is the current and incomplete list (in no particular order):

The podcasts RadioLab and This American Life. There is no doubt -- these are the best podcasts being produced today. No doubt. I just wish I hadn't melted my iPod be leaving it int he sun in my car all weekend. I opened another checking account at Key Bank just to get the free iPod Nano they give you. As soon as it comes I'm closing the account. It is worth it -- these two podcasts alone are worth it.

Wikipedia is great, too. I know there is some big arguments concerning whether a student can use articles from Wikipedia as sources for papers. I don't care. I'm not a student. It is a great place to start when you are studying ANYTHING.

That brings me to CarTalk. The website isn't anything great. But, the radio show, heard on NPR on Saturday mornings, is the most entertaining show on about any medium. And...I don't know anything about cars (or even care).

Apple. A Mac works. It looks cool. iPods are cool. iTunes is easy to use. Steve Jobs is much more enjoyable to listen to than Bill Gates. Microsoft's Zune is fairly lame.

What other stuff do I like? Amazon. Ebay. I read, well, scan, CNN everyday but Sunday.

The LDS church has a tech site for people who like to see how the church is using technology.

I can't think of anything else right now, but I'm sure there are more things on the list. As I think of more "stuff", I'll add them.

I'm not really sure why...

...our children like to dress up in their Halloween outfits a month prior to Halloween. But, they do. Every year. So, today, after church, our family decorated the house in October "stuff" and Ashley dressed up like a pirate. I realize it isn't really that girly (but we still have a month to change her mind) but I also overheard her yell from downstairs, "Hey! If I put my ammo there, then that is my place!!!" Ammo? What about dolls? or flowers, or unicorns, or ballet shoes? Ammo?

She is being influenced by her brothers...

Like little sister, like big brother...

I was trying (unsuccessfully) to get some B/W pics of Maddie when Parker came in to the room to "help her smile". She wouldn't. But, she did chew on her toes. So, of course, Parker wanted a picture of himself...eating his toes. Through his footy-pajamas...

New Blog

I've decided to start posting photography on the BJMPhotography blog and leave this blog for family and person updates. Yes, John, I'll start putting words and stuff on this blog. Seeing all of my old students blogging and updating everyone on their families was inspiring. So, I'll start blogging...the real way.

Fall Colors in N. Utah...

I drove up a canyon this afternoon. The sun wasn't in the right place, but the colors still looked great!

Soccer Season

Parker has had a great time in soccer over the past few weeks. Here are a couple of pics...I was being so intense coaching Landon's team that I forgot to take pictures. Hope to remedy that one soon...

Landon's Urban Session.....

...once again--just a little experiment...This was taken at the Gateway outdoor mall in SLC. Just after we all got to play with the iPhone in the Mac store.

Just a little experiment...

I thought I'd use some of PSE's little adjustments...I *think* I like it.

Salt Lake City Temple

This picture was taken from the Joseph Smith Memorial Building...ten stories up (I think). Thanks for the idea, Andy!

"Urban Setting"

This is my first attempt at the Urban Setting photo session. My poor children...always having to pose and smile and fake like they enjoy it...Love 'em!
