Why can't I go into the Temple? I mean SERIOUSLY.

John...you can. This is from the Church's website:
"Visitors are welcome to visit the temple grounds at any temple and attend open houses prior to dedication, thereafter only baptized members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who are qualified and prepared are allowed to enter a temple after it is dedicated."
So, you can, you just need to take a few steps: be baptized, then be qualified and prepared. You're probably not as far away as you think.
Since Israel's time wandering through the desert (and probably before) God has tried to get people to live "higher laws" in order to qualify for higher blessings and opportunities. God blesses all of His children, even ones who don't know He exists, but certain blessings are always held in reserve for those who really are trying to follow what He wants them to do.
